I find it amazing now-a-days how it is no longer what god do you believe in but what aspect of Christ do you believe in.
In ancient times there was the Norse religion, Celtic religion, Greek religion, Roman religion, Native American religion, and so forth.
Now-a-days the main religion you hear of is Christian religion, whether it's Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Mormon (LDS), Pentecostal(hope I spelled that right), Seventh-Day-Adventist,
or Non-Denominational. So sad when any other religion is pagan and idolatrous.
I was having the most interesting conversation with a co-worker about a month back I said something sarcastic about worshipping satan, (I must add I don't worship satan) he knew I was joking, but he made the comment anyways that I was going to Hell (he didn't like people not taking their salvation seriously.... yes one of those christians), I said I don't believe in Hell, he said well your going there anyways, we then continued in this strain for about ten minutes, me saying just cause he believed in Hell didn't mean it existed, and him admament that I was....
He was missing the point just cause the Bible says there's a Hell doesn't mean there is one.
All the Bible is, is a religious journal of christians. I know that one can find proof all over the globe that the Bible is supposedly true, but that is why it has a following because it have some semblance of truth. If you look in other religions there is also a semblance of truth. It's not like the Bible is the only one. The reason the Bible is so wide spread is because it is a very convenient tool to control people. I know that makes me sound cynical and to a degree I am, I studied the Bible for over ten years going in depth looking for answers to my own questions and finding none.
I believe this makes me a realist, but back to my 3 points.
Hitler used the concept behind the Bible recounting the crucifixion, to attempt to take over the world.
The Inquistion(s) used it to turn others to their religion,
The Mormon movement created a mass exodus and slaughtered those who tried to follow who were not of their faith.
These are just a few of the many, off the top of my head.
And the point to all of these is, is that religion is used to control the masses, anyone with a half a brain knows this.
And the christian culture is so clever to make the question not "Whether or not the christian religion is true" but "Which christian sect is true"
